Brian and Dan are expecting guests and travelling in the next day for this Thanksgiving week, so we’ll not be in the studio tonight.
We send our best wishes for a peaceful, safe and happy Thanksgiving to all of you who have allowed us to reach out to you every Tuesday for the last two and a half years. We will be back in the KUST studio next week.
In lieu of a program tonight, we pass along a poem as a gift. These are scary times for many and we hope that in the days to come you will find some moments of peace with family and friends and perhaps some wild things, too.
The Peace of Wild Things (Wendell Berry)
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
I come into the peace of wild things
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
