If it’s Tuesday night, it’s time for another awe-inspiring edition of Great River Radio.
As most of you know, Dan and Lisa were happily married on Sunday. And no matter how much I pleaded with him, Dan has decided to take the night off to spend some quiet time with his bride. A big congrats to the newlyweds!
And if Dan is out of the studio, that can only mean a return engagement for DJ/TC – You know him, you love him. And we can’t wait to spin some great music your way this evening.
One of the many benefits of listening to Great River Radio is that we sort through all the music “noise” out there in order to bring you only the most tasty and satisfying music on the airwaves. Let’s be honest, life is busy. You don’t have time to dig through playlists and study CMJ or Billboard charts to find good music. Which isn’t to say you have lost your desire to hear new and interesting music. Rather, you just need a filter. And that’s what we provide at Great River Radio. We do all the heavy lifting so that you can listen in (or catch us later at https://greatriverradio.wordpress.com) to hear what’s worth listening to on the music scene (is it still a scene or is it more of a happenin’?). We do our best each week to bring you the catchiest and most listenable tunes around.
So what’s on tap for tonight? DJ/TC and I have a Halloween bag of surprises, including excellent new music from I’m From Barcelona, Fujiya & Miyagi, Kaiser Chiefs, Loquat and The Walkmen. And as a very special treat, we will have not one but two new tracks from the upcoming Ryan Adams release. You’ll really want to hear these new tunes from one of the most productive artists working today. There also will be favorites from Arcade Fire, Nada Surf, Paul Oakenfold, Grant Lee Buffalo, Travis and many others.
So, get those pumpkins carved, sneak some candy from the kids and settle in from 8-10 p.m. CST for a night of great music.
Programming Note: Dan and I are off for election day next Tuesday, Nov. 4. (Don’t forget to vote!) Great River Radio will return on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
